Some people get red spots on their face that, when seen up close, look like vascular plexuses (meshes or stars). These are called telangiectasias and telangiectasias on the face are called couperose.
Couperose is not a health risk, but as a cosmetic defect it can cause serious psychological discomfort.
How couperose appears
Cuperose meshes often spread to the wings of the nose, cheeks and, less frequently, the chin. From afar, the skin with couperose looks blotchy, with spots varying in colour from pink to scarlet and even blue. As couperose is prone to people with thin and sensitive skin, these spots are usually highly visible.
Causes of couperose
Underneath the epidermis, there are many small vessels, or capillaries, that feed it. Depending on the conditions, the capillaries contract and expand, their elastic walls allowing them to do so. When walls lose their elasticity, they once expanded, they cannot return to their previous state and blood starts to stagnate inside. Such clusters of dilated capillaries form telangiectasia.
Why does the vascular wall lose its elasticity?
There are different reasons for this: both external and internal. Externally, these include frequent temperature fluctuations, excessive exposure to UV light and improper skin care. Internally, it's stress-prone, hormonal imbalances and liver disease. A factor contributing to the development of couperose is a hereditary tendency to lack elasticity in the walls of blood vessels.
Fighting couperose
The problem of spider veins is not the skin itself, but the subcutaneous capillary bed, so treatment should be primarily aimed at strengthening the vascular wall. It is advisable to be treated under the guidance of a specialist, as some improperly performed treatments to reduce couperose will only exacerbate the problem. As an example, facial massages can be both anti-cuperosis and lead to even more dilation of the already enlarged capillaries if the procedure is not carried out correctly. The best results can be achieved with a holistic approach, the use of medication (medical cosmetics, mesotherapy), non-medicinal treatment and healthy lifestyle changes.
Our Couperose Expert Cream helps eliminate the unpleasant problem of couperose. This cosmetic product works on the cause of the issue: thin, brittle blood vessels located too close to the surface of the skin.
Thanks to the components of the product - such as Dead Sea minerals; essential oils of geranium, lavender, Brazilian rosewood, and rosemary; and vitamin E - this Couperose Expert Cream strengthens the walls of the blood vessels, stimulates blood circulation, relieves inflammation, and softens areas of the epidermis around the broken vessels.
