What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a particular substance belonging to the group of glycosaminoglycans .

Glycosaminoglycans are molecules that are produced by fibroblasts , the cells of the dermis (the middle layer of our skin).

Glycosaminoglycans - together with elastic fibers and collagen (other elements produced by fibroblasts) - constitute what we can define as the scaffold that supports and supports the skin, since all these elements put together give it tone , elasticity and firmness .

In fact, hyaluronic acid is able to bind a large amount of water molecules, giving the skin a deep hydration.

With advancing age, however, the production of these elements by the cells of the dermis gradually and inexorably decreases, making the skin less elastic , less toned , less compact , dry and dehydrated and thus favoring the appearance of wrinkles. .

To be more precise, glycosaminoglycans - and hyaluronic acid in particular - they give the skin a good degree of hydration and firmness

WHEN TO USE HYALURONIC ACID?

When you reach the age of 25, you may want to consider using a hyaluronic acid-based cream in your face care beauty routine. An essential, moisturizing and filling gesture to prevent skin aging and remove traces of tiredness due to sleepless nights.

The best thing is to choose a pure Hyaluronic Acid gel or a Hyaluronic Acid based serum and use it after cleansing the face and before proceeding to use the cream. If the Hyaluronic Acid gel is pure it can also be used on the eye contour, before the eye contour cream. In this way you will keep the skin supple, preventing it from scratching ahead of time.
The correct steps are therefore: cleanser, tonic / hydrolat, gel or serum based on Hyaluronic Acid, face cream and eye contour cream.

What happens when we apply hyaluronic acid on our skin?

If we apply high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, failing the molecule to penetrate very deeply, it will carry out its action essentially on the surface. Here it binds to many water molecular weight hyaluronic acid, it will be able to penetrate much deeper.

On the other hand, when we apply low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, it will be able to penetrate much deeper. Here it will nourish the cellular matrix, stimulate the action of fibroblasts and by swelling, it give turgor and elasticity to the skin.
